Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Do I have to be over 60 to book with Travel at 60?

Not at all. Our holidays are curated with Baby Boomers in mind, but our Travel Consultants can source any type of trip for travellers of any age. We also put together wonderful multi-generational holidays and can arrange private touring for larger groups.

Do I need to be a Starts at 60 member to book holidays?

No, membership isn’t required to book with us. That said, signing up and subscribing to our newsletter is a great way to stay across our best travel deals and sales.

When will my booking be confirmed?

Your holiday is provisionally confirmed once we receive your deposit, subject to final confirmation from the relevant supplier. We’ll also confirm any additional arrangements, such as pre- and post-tour accommodation and travel insurance — timing for this can vary depending on your destination and holiday type.

Can special requests be arranged?

We’ll always pass on any medical requirements, special meal requests, or mobility needs to the relevant supplier — just let us know at the time of booking. These requests are subject to availability and can’t be guaranteed.

Are there any health precautions or vaccinations I need?

We recommend seeing your doctor six to eight weeks before you travel, to get advice and allow time for any vaccinations. Remember to pack your itinerary and arrange appropriate travel insurance at the time of booking.

What are the luggage restrictions on tour?

This depends on the flights, touring and cruises included in your holiday. Your travel consultant can confirm allowances at time of booking, or you can check your booking confirmation.

How far in advance are flights available to book?

Airlines typically release their flight schedules up to 299 days ahead.

I’m a solo traveller — do I have to pay a single supplement?

We work hard to source great solo traveller holidays, and partner with operators who can pair solo travellers together to avoid the extra cost. If you’re happy to share a room on a group tour, let us know — we’ll look into pairing you with a same-gender solo traveller, saving you both the single supplement.

What do the meal abbreviations on itineraries mean?

B = Breakfast, L = Lunch, D = Dinner.

What is ATAS?

Look for the ATAS symbol whenever you’re planning a trip. It shows a travel agency has met strict national accreditation criteria — proof they’re credible, well-trained, and professional. ATAS-accredited agencies must comply with Australian Consumer Law and the ATAS Charter and Code of Conduct, and offer access to a wide range of products, destinations and first-to-market offers, backed by friendly, hassle-free service from start to finish. ATAS (the AFTA Travel Accreditation Scheme) is administered by the Australian Federation of Travel Agents (AFTA).
